About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team at HS2 Ltd. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a crucial role in providing legal advice and support to our business, ensuring that we operate within the bounds of the law and maintain a strong reputation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality legal advice and support to our business, including drafting documents and advising on commercial and contracts law.
  • Assist with the provision of statutory advice as required.
  • Support the resolution of contractual claims and disputes, including managing external legal support.
  • Contribute to the preparation and drafting of reports and briefings for senior management.
  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work and support organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
About You
  • Qualified solicitor or Barrister, with 2-4 years PQE gained in private practice or in-house.
  • Experience in commercial law, procurement law, and construction law.
  • Ability to distil complex legal issues into easily understood advice, providing pragmatic, commercial and solution-focused guidance to clients.
  • Ability to prepare legal drafting with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team to achieve a mutually desired outcome.
  • Ability to balance and prioritise numerous tasks, while delivering to deadlines.
