Due to significant growth across the University over the last three years and planned growth over the next five, we are looking to hire a new experienced Senior Payroll Manager on a permanent basis starting as soon as the best candidate is available.

Reporting to the Financial Controller within the Finance directorate, the Senior Payroll Manager is be a key member of the Finance team and work with a Pensions & Payroll Officer. This role will also work closely with the external managed service provider, staff in the People and Culture team, senior managers and line managers on a daily basis. It will lead and manage all aspects of payroll and pensions management for the University, including sessional staff payments and all relationships / requirements for defined benefit pension schemes (TPS and LGPS).

To succeed in this role you will bring high quality prior experience in directly managing all aspects of payroll and pensions along with a track record for accuracy and a great customer service mindset. A proven understanding of what good looks like (processes, systems, practice etc) and the ability to lead improvements would be of particular value. Finally, being a clear communicator whilst maintaining a calm and focused approach will .
