Counterparty Credit Risk – Assistant Vice President

Join us at Barclays, for an exciting and unique opportunity within the Counterparty Credit Risk function. This role supports both the Counterparty Risk Models Group (RMG) and Counterparty Risk Management (CRM). The role holder will develop knowledge and expertise across Counterparty Credit Risk, including model ownership throughout the model lifecycle and counterparty risk management activities, such as live risking of derivative and securities financing transactions across asset classes.

Purpose of the Role

To assess, monitor, and manage the potential for financial loss due to the default of a bank's trading partners.

AccountabilitiesMonitoring the bank's exposure to each counterparty across different product lines and asset classes.
Analysis of the financial condition and creditworthiness of the bank's counterparties, including corporations, financial institutions, and sovereign entities.
Development and implementation of credit scoring models to quantify counterparty risk.
Conducting stress testing to assess the impact of potential counterparty defaults on the bank's capital and liquidity.
Negotiation and management of collateral agreements with counterparties to mitigate potential losses in case of default.

Assistant Vice President Expectations
Consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
Perform work closely related to other areas, requiring an understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to achieving the organisation's sub-function objectives.
Collaborate with other work areas to align with business activity and strategy.
Engage in complex analysis of data from internal and external sources, including procedures and practices, to solve problems creatively and effectively.
Communicate complex information, which could be sensitive or difficult to communicate due to its content or audience.
Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
