Position Overview

This role is designed for individuals eager to deepen their understanding of Counterparty Credit Risk, encompassing model ownership throughout its lifecycle and various counterparty risk management tasks, including the live assessment of derivative and securities financing transactions across multiple asset classes.

Role Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to evaluate, monitor, and manage the potential financial risks associated with the default of the bank's trading partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the bank's exposure to each counterparty across various product lines and asset classes.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of the financial stability and creditworthiness of the bank's counterparties, including corporations, financial institutions, and sovereign entities.
  • Develop and implement credit scoring models to quantify counterparty risk effectively.
  • Perform stress testing to evaluate the impact of potential counterparty defaults on the bank's capital and liquidity.
  • Negotiate and manage collateral agreements with counterparties to mitigate potential losses in the event of default.

  • Provide consultation on complex issues, offering guidance to People Leaders to facilitate the resolution of escalated matters.
  • Identify risk mitigation strategies and develop new policies and procedures to support the control and governance framework.
  • Take ownership of risk management and enhance controls related to the tasks performed.
  • Engage in work closely related to other areas, necessitating an understanding of how different functions coordinate to achieve organizational objectives.
