Trainee Officer/ Officer, Tax Compliance (Jersey)

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

You will be responsible for a mixed portfolio of offshore trusts and companies. They will deal with all aspects of tax reporting for the portfolio including the preparation and submission of tax returns, preparation of relevant income computations and all related compliance matters.

What will you do?

  • Undertake compliance work on a mixed portfolio of clients
  • Work closely with team members and members of Fiduciary Services
  • Monitor day to day work, and work in progress, to ensure all deadline are met
  • Deal with tax related enquiries from in-house departments and HMRC
  • Deal with ad-hoc administration and reporting
  • Contribute to overall effectiveness of department interaction / communication with colleagues

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Excellent organizational skills including good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Must have a flexible approach and be a team player but should also be able to use own initiative
  • Good accuracy and attention to details

Nice-to-have

  • Achieved A levels or equivalent
  • To have worked within a professional organisation
  • Willingness to undertake tax professional qualifications (ATT/CTA) over time
