As a Senior Commercial Policy Specialist within the ScottishPower Distribution, business you will manage and support the development of commercial policies & strategies to fit a rapidly evolving landscape, whilst also ensuring compliance with Standard Licence Conditions. You will also be involved in the day-to-day management of a Contract & Connections Database for circa 4000 existing agreements/contracts, identifying associated liabilities and obligations and providing visibility to aid network planning and operation.

Additionally, they provide input to national codes (e.g., DCUSA, BSC), ensuring compliance with relevant Licence Conditions and industry standards.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Commercial Policy Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development of key commercial policies and methodologies, spanning £1.2bn of connection offer activity, ensuring timely delivery, communication, and governance.
  • Assisting the delivery of relevant regulatory commitments & incentive performance (Ca. £2m p.a.)
  • Day to day management of a Contract Database for 4000 agreements / contracts, identifying associated liabilities and obligations and providing visibility to aid network planning and operation.
  • Providing input to develop commercial terms for bespoke contracts/agreements (value of £50m-£100m by 2028)
  • Day to day responsibilities of industry codes (e.g. BSC, DCUSA), to ensure licence compliance and obligations are met, and provide necessary input to any proposed Change Proposals.
  • Providing input and contribute to relevant government/industry groups to protect & improve the company's commercial & revenue interests.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Knowledge and experience of contracts and commercial terms.
  • Experience of engaging with stakeholders in a regulated environment.
  • A track record of delivery, ideally in a relevant area of activity.
  • An understanding of effective partnership working with other utilities and organisations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, and persuasive skills.
  • High level analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a very diverse and demanding workload.
  • Pro-active with the ability to initiate investigations and, independently enhance policies and terms.
  • Good team player with the ability to build relationships (both internally and externally) and liaise with a wide range of teams of all levels.
