We have a part time post available for a Family Support Worker for the Family Wellbeing Intensive Support Team fixed term until . If you are passionate about children and young people getting the right help at the right time, about listening to their voice, and about working in partnership with families and wider networks, then we would very much like to hear from you.

What we do:

We support families with children 0-19 who are experiencing difficulties, referred through the children`s front door. We work with professional partners, schools, and health colleagues to support children, young people, and their families within our communities. We offer parenting groups, courses and one to one work in the home.

Our vision for children`s services is to make North Somerset a truly great place for children and young people to thrive; where all have the best possible life and opportunities, including those who are vulnerable, disadvantaged, and/or have special educational or additional needs.

The successful candidates will have:

  • A relevant level 3 or above qualification with post qualification experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and organisational skills
  • High motivation, energy and personal drive, resilience and highly developed emotional intelligence and self-awareness
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
