About the role

The Strengthening Family Connections Team is dedicated to working with families to foster strong relationships and support meaningful change. We use individualised, evidence-based interventions to address the individual needs of each family, promoting a collaborative and empowering approach to family support.

As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with families either at the edge of care, at the edge of service, or in the work around reunification.

The work will be covering the hours of 7am -8pm on a shift basis and will have flexible hybrid working opportunities.

The role of the Family Support Worker is as follows:

  • To work with families and children 0-18 years and 25 SEND to complete assessments, plans and deliver short term direct work focused on the need of the family.
  • To establish and maintain excellent working relationships with partner agencies within the statutory and non-statutory services to ensure a cohesive approach to preventing family breakdowns.
  • To complete all required information on to our LCS recording systems
  • To attend monthly supervisions and weekly team check in's as well as monthly team meetings.

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.

  • Be qualified at Level three or above in the relevant field.
  • Have experience with working with children, young people and families.
  • Have strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Be confident in the delivery of 1-1 and group intervention.
  • Have excellent time management skills.

  • Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
  • Work well within a team and one you own initiative.

  • And work in a way which is anti-discriminatory practise.
