We are seeking an experienced and committed Family Therapist to join our dedicated team of therapists in North Somerset CAMHS. As a Family Therapist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary service committed to delivering specialist interventions alongside Core CAMHS.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively engage families and provide initial assessments, family systemic assessments, therapy, and consultations to referred children, young people, and families as a member of the multi-disciplinary team within the North Somerset CAMHS Team.
- Provide systemic family interventions as part of the Multidisciplinary Team and liaise and work effectively with professionals within partnership agencies.
- Ensure that appropriate levels of clinical supervision are maintained and that clinical governance is of an excellent standard.
- Work within all latest relevant clinical frameworks and guidelines, including NICE, Future in Mind, and Eating Disorders Commissioning Guide.
- Exercise responsibility for the governance of systemic practice through contributing to the development of policy and procedures guiding its application in a local CAMHS setting.
- Apply a sound knowledge of safeguarding issues and child development to work with young people and families referred to CAMHS and identify when to refer to other agencies.
- Observe the professional Code of Conduct and Ethics as laid down by the Association of Family Therapy and UKCP.
- Maintain adequate records and case notes in accordance with Trust Policy and professional guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate progress through responding effectively to feedback from members of the client and professional system.
Experience
- Experience as a CAMHS clinician in multiple contexts, including Eating Disorders.
- Post-qualification experience in child and adolescent mental health specialty and in working with families with severe and complex difficulties.
- Experience of problems that present to a CAMHS service and appropriate interventions.
Qualifications
- First degree and/or professional qualification or equivalent in social work, nursing, or psychology or other first qualification as recognised by AFT.
- Eligible to complete MSc in Family Therapy or equivalent and UKCP Registration.
Skills
- Ability to communicate highly complex information, both verbally and in written reports and formulations.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Evidence of continuing Professional Development and ability to complete clinical requirements.
Personal Qualities
- Ability to contain and work with organisational stress and to attenuate the stress of others.
