Assistant Product Developer

We are now looking for a talented Assistant Product developer to join the MR PORTER Own-Label Buying team.

Here is a breakdown of what you'll be doing:
Support the Product developer in developing a range of RTW, footwear and accessories. Work cross functionally with teams from concept, handover of design packs, through to delivery of bulk production to deliver a range that meets margin expectations. Working with design and technical on all aspects of garment and cloth development. Negotiate cost prices and delivery dates in line with critical path and department margin targets. Communicate CP & target prices to all suppliers, and procure initial costs from all suppliers and suggest solutions to improve margin. Oversee product development of designated categories and ensure garment is fitted and sealed in line with critical path. Highlight any issues that may arise within the negotiation and product development process, actively suggesting solutions to solve any issues that may arise. Maintain critical path. Confirm all order details with suppliers including colour and fabric approvals. Carry out supplier performance analysis and competitive shopping reports. Actively source new suppliers in line with brand requirements. Perform all pre-Upload checks and resolve any issues before go-live, including pre-shoot management. Pull together supplier packs ahead of buying trips. Attend weekly trade analysis, understand implications of trade on future collections. Manage and develop Product admin assistant. Awareness of seasonal trends and target customer. Contribute to product strategy, propose solutions to production challenges. The type of person we are looking for:
You must have end to end product development experience. Preferably have experience in mid-level and luxury menswear sector. commercial experience of trading a department. Advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint & Word. Confident in presenting and suggesting solutions. Excellent at organising, planning and prioritising work in line with deadlines. Experience with Centric beneficial. Ability to coordinate work and activities of others. Pro-active in suggesting ways to improve the MR PORTER private label business.
