Role and Responsibilities:

As a Behavioural Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural challenges. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with teachers to support students with behavioural needs
  • Implementing individualised behaviour management plans
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to help students stay engaged in their learning
  • Monitoring and recording student progress
  • Assisting in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Supporting the social and emotional development of students
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent support

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with behavioural needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality
  • Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management are desirable but not essential
