As a dedicated teaching assistant who has worked with students with complex needs or challenging behaviour and who may have SEMH diagnoses, do you have any experience in working with these students?

Are you considering becoming a teacher in the future, but you would also like to gain more experience before becoming a teacher by working in a school or school environment before you consider becoming a teacher?

In the past, you may have worked in an educational setting or a similar environment, but are interested in taking the next step in your career by working in a more challenging and rewarding environment?

The role - Teaching assistant - Southwark

  • Provide students with a safe environment in which they can develop their physical, emotional, and educational skills while participating in activities with individuals or small groups of students.
  • To provide an environment that is stimulating, well-structured, and suitable for pupils with difficulties related to social, emotional, and mental health
  • Enhance a student's sense of self-esteem and encourage them to achieve and develop to the best of their ability.
  • Assist students who need additional SEMH support by planning and delivering interventions in accordance with their needs.
  • Taking part in meetings to discuss student progress, including inclusion meetings, is essential.
  • To promote independence
