Warwick District Council is committed to deliver high quality green spaces, which will improve the lives for people who live, work, and visit the district.

We are looking for a skilled and energetic individual with a passion for public green spaces to join our busy team.

The Green Space Development Officer will contribute to the work of the Green Space Team and will fulfil several key roles including the development and management of green spaces throughout the district, ecological management, landscaping, sports and play provision, securing further investment, delivering various green space projects, while identifying savings and efficiencies from new ways of working.

Candidates should have extensive knowledge and experience of green space development and have a degree (or equivalent) qualification in environment, landscape, planning or other related subjects, be proficient with current IT applications and have good numerate, verbal, and written communications skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for a good team player, who will take forward the development of this service and the districts green spaces.

We would also be interested to hear from graduates that are looking to put their knowledge into practice.

You will have guidance and support whilst working within a team that places a high value on teamwork, customer focus, professionalism, responsibility, and creativity. Ultimately you will need to be able to work on your own initiative but will have the support of your manager as required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable person to join our small but busy team. You must be competent with Microsoft Office and use of the internet and be an excellent communicator at all levels. Able to demonstrate ability to plan/prioritise and sequence multiple and potentially conflicting priorities.

You will also need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to undertake duties across the entire district.

We work flexibly in Warwick, and support working at home or flexible working patterns that enable you to tailor your working and personal life. We provide the equipment and tools to enable you to work flexibly, and in return ask you to use that flexibility to be creative and ambitious in the services we deliver.

You will be expected to be based in the office when required, for example to carry out work in the district, attend meetings and be available for the occasional out of hours work.

The intention is for the postholder to work predominately from home however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District as required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, office and hybrid working are also available.
