Job Summary

East Dunbartonshire Council are looking to appoint a Trainee Facilities Assistant, Catering as part of a Scottish Government funded work experience programme.

Candidate should have an understanding of a good work ethic. Be willing to work with others as part of a team. Deliver a catering service for all service users by carrying out simple cooking and preparation of food and beverages. Carry out cash handling duties, as requested, to ensure compliance of council policy and procedures. Undertake duties related to clearing, cleaning and washing-up to ensure Food Safety and Health and Safety Legislation is met at all times.

They should have a genuine interest and use this opportunity to gain essential experience. Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided. The preferred candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme.

This is a temporary role for 6 months for those who are parents with dependent children with barriers to employment or unemployed for 12 months or more with barriers to employment. Vacancy conditional dependant on funding.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland

The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria

Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
