We have an exciting opportunity to join our winning Corporate South IMPACT team in the UK as a Senior Proposal Specialist.

The IMPACT team is the RFP response function for Marsh in the UK and our primary focus is on supporting Marsh respond to both offensive and defensive RFP's and also provide pre RFP pursuit support for the business.

You will be working within a highly successful team who support Marsh Corporate, working across the Corporate South region offices in the UK.

Role Profile

  • Facilitate pre-bid strategy workshops to agree client strategy plans; this may involve attending client face-to-face discovery sessions.
  • Lead the RFP pursuit from initial validation to ensure that they are viable, by challenging the team and where necessary work with the opportunity owner to put in place a plan to address any challenges prior to the issue of the RFP.
  • Review RFPs for complete understanding of proposal submission requirements and adhere to internal RFP governance.
  • Write persuasive proposal/presentation content and executive summaries that are geared toward readers' needs and level of knowledge and that follows company best practice approach.
  • Identify major strategic opportunities within RFPs to help team extract and create more value for/from clients.
  • Facilitate opportunity strategy development, working closely with the client team to help identify client/prospect business-drivers, and create the optimal RFP communication strategy, corresponding themes and graphic approach.
  • Determine research needs, delegate or perform as appropriate.
  • Identify internal points of contact to request practice- and project-specific information when information cannot be found in knowledge management system.
  • Work actively with design team to create optimal design approach/concept, including storyboarding, for opportunity and facilitates design review process.
  • Manage the RFP/presentation development process, assuming total responsibility for management of the proposal/presentation development process for small/low complexity projects and major responsibility for large/complex projects.
  • Coach the pitch team, ensuring adequate rehearsals are in place.
  • Conduct RFP debriefs to obtain feedback and record data
  • Share information with the Impact team and internal stakeholders to promote best practice and deliver business growth
  • Outside of live RFPs, undertakes other independent projects to enhance the Impact team

We will rely on you to:

  • Manage new business and defensive RFP proposals for Corporate South clients.
  • Develop compelling proposals for our clients and prospects to support the Business in achieving growth targets.
  • Engage with specialists from across Marsh to build engagement with IMPACT and to develop robust RFP pipelines for that business.
  • Provide support to Marsh Corporate on a range of bid avoidance strategies for clients such as leading Challenge Reviews.
  • Work with Sales and Corporate Leadership to develop and implement projects that will deliver growth.
