Trainee Traffic Installation Technician

Telent are now looking for a Trainee Traffic Installation Technician to join a talented team of Traffic Signals specialists in the Crawley / West Sussex region. Due to growth and demand from our customer(s), we in a position to grow our Traffic team in this region. This is a "Field based" role - the successful applicant MUST hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel around the region. Full training provided

Trainee Traffic Installation Technician - What you'll do:​​​​​​​

As a trainee within our Traffic Signals team, a typical day would see you working closely with one of our experienced Traffic Engineers to install, maintain and test a range of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lights and Electrical equipment that compliment, in and around the West Sussex region. If you already have experience of installing Street Lighting / Highways based Electrical or Lighting equipment, this role will further develop this experience.

Training isn't just in a classroom, it is a mixture of 'on the job' learning and online learning, which will help you progress towards an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations and Sector based certifications such as ECS and the National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) Chapter 8.

Trainee Traffic Installation Technician - Who you are:

You will naturally have an intrigue and interest of installation and field based engineering work. You will also ideally have some exposure to anything electrical installations focused - whether that's working with electrical equipment, lighting, controllers, detection boxes etc, or you've had some experience or exposure in a College course. This role requires the successful candidate to take the opportunity to the next level, and commit to learning whilst on the job. Trainee Traffic Installation Technician - Key requirements / behaviours:
