We have an opening for a qualified individual to become a vital member of our expanding Traffic team based in Crawley.
We are in search of a proactive, motivated, and enthusiastic Traffic Management Supervisor to aid in delivering Traffic Management solutions across various contracts.
Key Responsibilities of the Traffic Management Supervisor:
- Support the Traffic Management Contract Manager with daily planning and resource allocation for Traffic Management Operatives.
- Participate in site meetings with internal teams and contractors as necessary.
- Conduct site audits as required.
- Ensure adequate equipment and resources are available for current and upcoming projects.
- Maintain compliance with Telent Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Oversee Traffic Management Operatives both in the depot and on-site.
- Implement Traffic Management for both scheduled and emergency works.
- Provide work instructions to team members.
- Deliver safety briefings and internal Health & Safety communications to the team.
- Occasionally undertake weekly on-call shifts.
- Work according to defined scheme drawings in line with Sector 8 and Red Book standards.
- Perform basic sign-making and general maintenance in the depot and on-site.
- Manage site upkeep, including battery replacements and site switches.
- Execute permanent signal deactivations when necessary.
- Offer on-site support to installation teams as required.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment onto vehicles.
Essential Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid and clean UK driving licence.
- National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) M1, M2, M5, and M6 certifications.
- Prior experience in a Traffic Management Operative or Supervisor role on highways.
- Strong people management abilities, with skills in conflict resolution and handling challenging situations.
- Extensive experience in Traffic Management design and execution.
- Knowledge of Chapter 8 (Sector 8) regulations.
