Telent Technology Services Ltd is seeking a skilled Traffic Management Supervisor eager to embrace a new opportunity within our Traffic Management division, part of the broader Transport sector. We have an opening for a qualified individual to enhance our growing Traffic team based in Crawley.
We are in search of a motivated, positive, and proactive Traffic Management Supervisor to support our efforts in delivering Traffic Management services across various contracts.
Key Responsibilities of the Traffic Management Supervisor:
- Assist the Traffic Management Contract Manager with daily planning and resource allocation for Traffic Management Operatives.
- Participate in site meetings with internal teams and contractors as necessary.
- Conduct site audits as required.
- Ensure the availability of adequate equipment and materials for current and upcoming projects.
- Maintain compliance with Telent's Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Supervise Traffic Management Operatives both in the depot and on-site.
- Implement Traffic Management for both scheduled and emergency tasks.
- Provide work instructions to team members.
- Deliver toolbox talks and internal Health & Safety communications to staff.
- Occasionally participate in weekly on-call shifts.
- Adhere to defined scheme drawings in line with Sector 8 and Red Book standards.
- Engage in basic sign-making and maintain cleanliness in the depot and on-site.
- Oversee site maintenance, including battery replacements and site switches.
- Manage permanent signal switch-offs when necessary.
- Offer on-site support to installation teams as required.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment onto vehicles.
Essential Qualifications:
- A valid and clean UK driving licence.
- National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) M1, M2, M5, and M6 certifications.
- Prior experience in highway operations as a Traffic Management Operative or Supervisor.
- Strong people management abilities, with skills in conflict resolution and handling challenging situations.
- Extensive experience in Traffic Management design and execution.
- Familiarity with Chapter 8 (Sector 8) regulations.
