Temporary to Permanent - Finance Manager

As Finance Manager you will be responsible for the accounts department including leading a team of 3 accounts assistants.
Working in a varied role within a growing sme with global presence you will be responsible for ensuing financial reporting is completed timely and accurately. Supporting the FD and senior leadership team and overseeing the day to day running of the finance team. This is a hands on role that balances people management with financial and management accounting. The ideal person will be a qualified accountant (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) or qualified by experience with at least 5 years experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for completing monthly and year-end financial and management reports for statutory and legal requirements as well as to allow departmental managers and the SLT to understand and respond to key business drivers and opportunities.
Ensuring best practice, continuous improvement of internal processes to reduce risk and strengthen internal information and reporting timeline
, Manage the preparation and submission of payroll and VAT.
Dealing with multiple currencies and accounting for a group function
Liaison with external accountants for the preparation of VAT returns and payroll.
Day to day management and mentoring of the Finance Team, ensuring the team have skills and tools to complete their tasks on time/.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will be:
Qualified by experience or fully/part qualified with a UK accountancy qualification such as AAT/CIMA /ACCA
  • Able to demonstrable experience in a similar role within an SME business
Able to manage multiple workstreams and able meet deadlines.
a confident communicator - showing excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build effective relationships with stakeholders and direct reports.
Analytical with the ability to use excel to manipulate data and show trends to support decision making.
Confident with technical accounting principles, a solid grounding in finance (understanding debits, credits, P&L and balance sheet).
Experienced in accounts preparation.
Able to produce consolidated accounts from a multi-currency base.
Experienced dealing with multi-currency payments/receipts.

Salary between 45k - 50k per annum depending upon experience.
