Senior Contracts Buyer

As Brompton continues to grow, the need to utilise the global supply chain to produce cost effective solutions has become a key initiative for the Procurement Team. As a Senior Contracts Buyer your role will encompass all aspects of onshore and offshore sub-contract manufacturing. The candidate will be a self-starter, good at analysing data, whilst ensuring that parts/services and contracts are delivered in line with the business and stake holders' expectations.

Key Responsibilities | Senior Contracts Buyer

  • Responsible for putting in place the appropriate Commercial Agreements, including but not limited to, internal and external Customer flow downs, eg NDA's, T&C's
  • Prepare routine Request for Quotation and Contract documentation packs such as Bid Packs, Contractual Terms and Price Agreements.
  • Liaise with internal stake holders including but not limited to, Design, Quality and Supply Chain.
  • Responsible for creating and presenting Contract Compliance packs that will be subject to internal audit.
  • Deliver and / or support cost negotiation of Supplier pricing and provide reporting for internal / external Audit.
  • Ensure price negotiation and cost controls are contractually covered
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities across the product in line with declared project / product targets.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to understand the product and project deliverables.
  • Identify and encourage Supplier competition for NPI material requirements.
  • Prepare varied Lifecycle Management reporting to outline the status and progress of material sourcing, Contracting Compliance and Bid Support.
  • Responsible for the management of Supplier delivery performance of NPI Contracts and certain Production Contracts throughout the Contract lifecycle in line with defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Identify and manage risk and opportunity, working collaboratively with Suppliers and other project members
  • Attending internal meetings as and when necessary, with various departments.
  • Compliance with the processes and procedures in place within BBL.
  • Working on other projects as and when required
  • Providing update reports as and when required
  • Any other tasks that may be deemed necessary.

Desired Experience:

  • Engineering degree
  • Working knowledge of MRP/APS systems
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Exposure to / understanding of Contract Terms & Conditions
  • Must have a proven track record of onshore and offshore contract manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of Trade / Export Compliance
  • Good Negotiation skills and the ability to influence
  • Good Communication skills (written & oral)
  • Previous experience in a "hands on" procurement role.
  • Innovative and a self-starter
  • Preferable Mandarin speaker
  • CIPS Lebel 3+ qualification preferred
