Position: Shoe Manufacturing Operative
Location: Northampton
Hours: Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 16:30, Friday 07:30 - 12:30
Breaks: 30-minute unpaid lunch, 2x 10-minute paid tea breaks
Pay: 11.44/hour, with overtime rates up to 22.88/hour

Main Duties:

  • Cutting: Prepare and cut leather/materials.
  • Scouring and Finishing: Perform heel scouring, sole preparation, and other finishing tasks.
  • Sewing and Assembling: Stitch and assemble shoe parts.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet daily/weekly production targets.
  • Maintain high-quality standards.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to meet production requirements.
  • Support team with urgent tasks; communicate issues to team leader.
  • Ensure machinery is maintained and report any issues promptly.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in the shoe industry or similar manufacturing roles.
  • Proficient in using sewing machines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to train others effectively.
  • Self-motivated and conscientious.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Capable of remaining calm under pressure.
