Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Shift Operations Engineer to join our client's growing engineering department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production processes and maintaining the integrity of our manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily predictive maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and optimize production efficiency
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on high-speed production and packaging machinery
  • Work collaboratively with the site services team to maintain steam and water systems
  • Manage on-site contractors and ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Complete progress reports for predictive maintenance tasks on SAP systems

Requirements:

  • Multi-skilled engineer with experience in high-care food and FMCG manufacturing
  • 17th or 18th Edition qualified and NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 qualified in electrical/mechanical engineering
  • Apprenticeship-trained and experienced in working in fast-paced environments
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma/5S methodologies
  • Able to fault-find on PLCs and control panels, and complete risk assessments
