Maiden Erlegh School are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting young people in a secondary school setting. The role is instrumental to helping students close the gap in their learning journey.
Skill and experience required for this role include:
Experience of working with secondary school-aged students.Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification or experience.Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.Training in relevant learning strategies e.g., literacy strategy.Specialist skills/training in curriculum or learning area e.g., sign language, ICT, EAL.Good understanding of child development and learning processes.Knowledge of National Curriculum and the standard work expected from students. The successful applicant will enjoy working with 11-18-year-olds. You must be adaptable and willing to be involved in all aspects of school life, have a calm manner and be able to work as part of team. You will share our inclusive values which are to Aim high – Be inclusive – Work together; and you will have a willingness to develop your own practice in line with our ethos of continuous improvement.Maiden Erlegh School is a highly successful comprehensive school for students from 11-18 years old, situated in Earley, near Reading.
