An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Customer Support Engineer to join a leading electronics design and manufacturing company. The role involves supporting OEM customers with a range of innovative power quality products, IoT devices, and refrigeration controls. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, looking to apply their skills in a dynamic R&D environment.
Day to day of the role:
- Provide technical support to OEM customers for new and existing products.
- Offer guidance on product applications, configurations, and usage.
- Communicate with customers through various channels including email, phone, and Teams.
- Issue Customer Technical Bulletins regarding product changes.
- Maintain a customer support database and manage product samples and accessories distribution.
- Support customers with configuration software and mobile applications.
- Authorize product returns and assist in failure analysis and reporting.
- Occasionally travel overseas to assist customers with product familiarization and technical issues.
- Contribute to the creation and revision of technical literature.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- HND or higher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of practical industrial experience with electronic products.
- Proficiency in understanding and configuring complex products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good understanding of electronic circuits and ability to read schematic diagrams.
- Competence with hand tools, soldering, crimping cables, and using electronic test equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and excellent time management.
- Flexibility in task management and the ability to report to the Engineering Manager.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and readiness to travel overseas at short notice.
- Ability to work at the head office in Langley without excessive travel time.
