An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Customer Support Engineer to join a leading electronics design and manufacturing company. The role involves supporting OEM customers with a range of innovative power quality products, IoT devices, and refrigeration controls. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, looking to apply their skills in a dynamic R&D environment.

Day to day of the role:

  • Provide technical support to OEM customers for new and existing products.
  • Offer guidance on product applications, configurations, and usage.
  • Communicate with customers through various channels including email, phone, and Teams.
  • Issue Customer Technical Bulletins regarding product changes.
  • Maintain a customer support database and manage product samples and accessories distribution.
  • Support customers with configuration software and mobile applications.
  • Authorize product returns and assist in failure analysis and reporting.
  • Occasionally travel overseas to assist customers with product familiarization and technical issues.
  • Contribute to the creation and revision of technical literature.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • HND or higher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of practical industrial experience with electronic products.
  • Proficiency in understanding and configuring complex products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of electronic circuits and ability to read schematic diagrams.
  • Competence with hand tools, soldering, crimping cables, and using electronic test equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and excellent time management.
  • Flexibility in task management and the ability to report to the Engineering Manager.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and readiness to travel overseas at short notice.
  • Ability to work at the head office in Langley without excessive travel time.
