The Role:

We're looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and inspiring leader with high expectations and ambition for learners across a range of foundation learning courses. Our college is a National Centre of Excellence for SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), ensuring all foundation learning students receive the support and resources they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities for Head of Faculty for Skills and Employability (Foundation Learning):

  • Develop and implement innovative teaching, learning, and assessment methods, serving as a positive role model and leading by example in foundation learning.
  • Lead and manage staff within the Faculty, including recruitment, induction, appraisals, and performance management, focusing on foundation learning excellence.
  • Develop and support an existing great team to deliver excellence in teaching, improve learner outcomes, and engage with employers and other stakeholders to develop the curriculum and delivery models for foundation learning.
  • Drive the development of our Entry Level provision, implementing the Below Level 2 Reforms and maximizing progression opportunities for our foundation learning students.

Minimum Requirements for Head of Faculty for Skills and Employability (Foundation Learning):

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a subject relevant to the faculty provision.
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing foundation learning provision.
  • Experience working with learners with SEND and knowledge of EHCP processes.
  • Experience successfully managing changes to curriculum design and delivery in foundation learning.
