Business Support Officer

An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Officer within the Parent and Baby Programme (P&BP). The P&BP provides a dynamic rapid and timely service to expectant mothers as being identified as being in need within the social care service.

The Business Support Officer will be an integral team member in coordinating the administrative activities. To assist the P&BP Team with administrative tasks as directed by the SSWP. Moreover, to positively contribute other administrative tasks deemed appropriate under the Resources Service area as directed by the Service Manager.

The service will focus on the threshold of need and will prioritise the new born children who are most at risk. Intensive support will be provided to individual family members to deliver and sustain family change which is based upon motivating the family to set family goals and achieve improved and strengthened positive parenting patterns.

Child Care Teams will use the Assessment Framework to identify the service users needs and if the need is identified for integrated and intensive support for expectant mothers (at 12 week gestation) the child care teams will request a service intervention from the P&BP

The team will work alongside the child care teams at County Hall, Haverfordwest as well as adopting agile working to provide a county wide service.

The eligibility criteria for access to P&BP service includes:

  • Family in crisis /newborn at risk of being removed at birth.
  • Family in crisis /Child at risk /at risk of becoming Looked After Child
  • Family in crisis /newborn at risk of multi agency safeguarding care and support
  • Families must have a social worker
  • Fmily consent to referral

P&BP promote partnership working and consider other resources that may be available to support the family's plan.

In this role there will be opportunities to be involved in development plans for P&BP.
