Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom University of Oxford Full time

The University of Oxford is a stimulating work environment with an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence. Our research plays a key role in tackling many global challenges, from reducing our carbon emissions to developing vaccines during a pandemic.

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is looking for a Digital Education Support Assistant to join our dynamic team. Working across the University you will principally support our work with one of the four Divisions and other designated parts of the University. Building excellent relationships you will work with Departments, course teams and CTL colleagues to identify and implement improvements to the use of Canvas and associated digital education technologies.

Focussing on local priorities and interventions that ensure a more inclusive learning experience you will deliver real improvement for students and staff. You will be joining the University at an exciting time as we implement our new Digital Education Strategy and define how we build on the experience of the last few years.

What We Offer

As an employer, we genuinely care about our employees' well-being and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer including:

  • An excellent contributory pension scheme
  • 38 days of annual leave
  • A comprehensive range of childcare services
  • Family leave schemes
  • Cycle loan scheme
  • Discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans

This role also offers the opportunity for hybrid working

About the Role

The Digital Education Support Assistant will work to deliver services and projects across the Digital Education Group. You will work with colleagues on key areas such as the service desk, triaging queries and offering basic advice and guidance as well as providing data administration and course-building skills to assist colleagues across the University.

You will help the Digital Education Coordinator and wider team in the Centre for Teaching and Learning to collect information and data that help us ensure we successfully deliver our commitments.

There will be opportunities to contribute to other centrally delivered work areas such as training, guidance and user groups, enabling you to extend your skills, knowledge and understanding of tools, processes and concepts, and progress a career in learning technology.

About You

You will have experience working in an administrative or course support role, with a track record of delivering outstanding customer service. Enjoying learning new software, strong problem-solving skills and an interest in digital education are essential.

Your good listening and questioning skills will help you better understand users' needs and interpret their requirements accurately and efficiently. Excellent written English will enable you to tailor communications to your audience. You will be capable of working with minimal supervision, using your initiative, and taking responsibility for solving problems and resolving issues.

You will be able to handle a busy and varied workload and demonstrate a proven track record of delivering work on time and to a high standard. Your good interpersonal skills will enable you to work with tact and diplomacy to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
