Job Description

Role Summary

The Digital Preservation Coalition is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Graduate Trainee Digital Archivist. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital curation, preservation, and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the processing and preservation of digital materials, including websites, archives, and other digital collections.
  • Learn and apply traditional and digital curation skills, including metadata editing, risk assessment, and digital curation tool usage.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of digital preservation strategies and workflows.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the long-term accessibility and usability of digital collections.
  • Work towards a postgraduate qualification in Digital Information and Media Management from Aberystwyth University.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, information studies, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of digital technologies and their applications in preservation and curation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
