Who we are looking for

The Global Head of BestX is responsible for all management responsibilities of the dedicated data, reporting, and analytics staff for the BestX Transaction Cost Analytics product. This role is responsible for strategic development and growth of the TCA product itself, including meeting revenue, expense, and risk excellence targets for the Data, reporting, and analytics offering globally.

Additionally, we expect this role to partner effectively with GlobalLink and State Street Global Markets leads on joint strategic opportunities. The Head of BestX is expected to participate and shape the strategic initiatives across GlobalLink to ensure that the quantitative and analytical expertise of the BestX team is properly leveraged.

GlobalLink is State Street's grlobal suite of market-leading electronic trading platforms providing solutions for market participants designed to increase transparency, improve trading efficiency, and deliver quantifiable execution. Everything we do aims at making sure our clients value every aspect of GlobalLink, from our product and technologies to our ease of doing business and our support.

This successful candidate will report directly to the Head of GlobalLink, joining the GlobalLink Management Team. Due to the role requirements this job needs to be performed primarily in the office with some flex work opportunities available.

What you will be responsible for

As the Head of BestX, responsibilities include:

  • Develop and monitor the business plan and budgets in line with corporate goals
  • Ensure proper resourcing, maintaining positive operating leverage
  • Ensure that the businesses operate in compliance with internal and external regulations and all escalation procedures are followed
  • Conduct periodic business reviews ensuring associated risks are identified and managed and appropriate remedial action is taken
  • Identify new business opportunities driven out of market, client, and regulatory demand. Develop and implement business plans in line with corporate goals
  • Manage global staff across multiple asset classes and roles
  • Work collaboratively with GlobalLink centralized functions, including sales, operations, business risk management, and COO to ensure that business growth objectives are met and the team has the proper controls and procedures in place
  • Work across the GlobalLink, Global Markets, and State Street to ensure that GlobalLink is maximizing opportunities to provide our solutions to prospective clients
  • Create and monitor annual performance priorities and quantifiable metrics to continually assess performance
  • Cultivate and strengthen talent by ensuring appropriate training to assist staff in meeting their core job expectations. Strengthen our talent through increased diversity, mobility, and promotion of employee engagement
  • Active contributions to the decision-making process within the GlobalLink EMG
  • Active presence at industry conferences and State Street-led symposiums with a focus on promoting thought leadership

  • Experience developing and executing on a strategic business plan. Imperative that candidate can articulate and differentiate GlobalLink's value proposition amidst a fiercely competitive industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with preference of secondary degree (MBA, CFA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in management capacity
  • Experience in institutional markets (FX, FI, Equity)
  • Exemplary communication skills are essential – excellent speaking and writing skills
  • Ability to build trust and relationships with clients, peers, staff, and support partners
  • Strong quantitative skills preferred
