A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOUS CHEF AT MERCURE PAIGNTON

What you'll be doing...
Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks
Cooking and preparing high quality dishes using various techniques
Assisting the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes
Supervising all kitchen stations and providing guidance to junior level staff
Working with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements...
Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards - advantageous
Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award - advantageous
Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role – Chefs de Partie welcome
Strong communicator with friendly and pleasant personality
Excellent people skills with the ability to engage with staff
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, but also to use initiative and to work autonomously, as required.
