HR Admin Team Leader

London, Greater London, United Kingdom 2019 Full time

We are currently recruiting for an HR Admin Team Leader to join our HR Operations team on a permanent basis, reporting to our Head of HR Operations.

In this role you will champion the delivery of a proactive, precise and efficient HR administration, data processing and query handling service. Day-to-day you will drive the team to surpass agreed SLAs in HR administration and processing.

For the first 12-months, you'll have a dedicated role to play as part of our HR Information System Transformation Project with your focus being on supporting the design and delivery to the new system – which is a very exciting period of change for the team

We are seeking an individual with a hands-on mentality, capable of taking a strategic view to revolutionise the HRAT's service delivery. This pivotal role not only sets the tone for the HRAT but also establishes you as a key contact for numerous internal and external stakeholders.

The key responsibilities are to:

  • Act as dedicated project lead for HR administration in our HRIS Transformation Project, sharing knowledge, experience, contributing to design and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Lead and manage our HR Administrator team to ensure a smooth, customer-focused service, ensuring high quality accurate work is consistently delivered.
  • Develop and support the HR Administrators with regular feedback and performance conversations.
  • Act as the point of escalation for more complex queries and requests from the business.
  • Support and coach the HR Administrators with the deployment and understanding of our new HR Information System (HRIS) and integrated systems.
  • Maintain and optimise the HR Information System for effective automation, ensuring accuracy of system data and maintenance of workflows.
  • Ensure effective and timely administration of all HR processes, including employee changes on the HRIS and generate letters in support of those changes.
  • Maintain e-personnel files containing all HR information for individual employees.
  • Lead and support key business projects.
  • Ensure all administration complies with HR policies, legal frameworks and GDPR.
  • Continually review ways of working and implement changes for effective administrative service delivery in collaboration with the Head of HR Operations.

To thrive in this position, you will:

  • Be proficient in utilising and managing databases, with a strong background in HRIS or CRM systems.
  • Have proven experience thriving within a fast-paced administrative hub, consistently exceeding SLA's.
  • Have had previous line management or mentoring experience and be open to developing your leadership skills.
  • Be comfortable to collaborate with key stakeholders such as Payroll, Reward and Finance teams.
  • Be an excellent communicator, coupled with a strong customer-service mindset.
  • Be adaptable in your communication style to ensure requests are met to a high satisfaction.
  • Be comfortable to demonstrate your ability to embrace an entrepreneurial spirit, seeking innovative solutions and continually striving for improvement.
  • Have a strong track record of building positive and proactive work relationships, earning credibility and respect through exemplary output and delivery.

Our approach to hybrid working:

While our offices are places for you to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, having flexibility about where you work is just as important for doing your best work and for your wellbeing. So, we don't have a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to how we work in different teams across Penguin Random House UK.

This is a hybrid role, based in our offices in London, as there are activities and meetings that you will need to support in-person. We are happy to discuss hybrid working arrangements with you during your recruitment process.
