We urgently need several Trade Surveillance Specialists, with working knowledge of conducting Surveillance Alert Reviews and either FICC or FX experience. The role will review trading and communications activity for market conduct as well as workplace behaviour, client interactions, procedural compliance, price construction and other similar types of conduct risks and behaviours.
Role Overview:
The Trade Surveillance Consultant will be responsible for reviewing trade alerts, evaluating the effectiveness of current surveillance models, and ensuring that systems are accurately configured to detect market abuse, insider trading, and other regulatory breaches. The successful candidate will work closely with Front Office teams, stakeholders, and clients to provide expertise and guidance on all aspects of trade surveillance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model Audit and Calibration
- Review and analyse trade alerts across multiple asset classes, including Fixed Income, FX, Futures, Options, and Interest Rate Swaps.
- Assess the accuracy and efficiency of existing surveillance models and suggest improvements or recalibrations as necessary.
- Ensure surveillance systems are correctly configured to comply with the latest regulatory requirements and market developments.
- Provide expert advice and support to clients and stakeholders, including Front Office, compliance teams, and senior management.
- Collaborate with technology teams to refine and enhance surveillance tools and platforms.
- Conduct detailed investigations into suspicious activities, preparing reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes and market trends to maintain the highest standards of surveillance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a trading or trade surveillance role within a financial institution.
- Deep knowledge of multiple asset classes, including Fixed Income, FX, Futures, Options, and Interest Rate Swaps.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and market activities.
- Experience with surveillance technologies and systems such as Actimize, SMARTS, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Relevant professional qualifications (eg, FCA certifications) are desirable.
Your role will also involve:
- Pro-actively review highly complex alerts
- Assisting in providing in-depth analysis of alerts, including the use of market data, source system data, and market data
- A familiarity with the equities and Fixed Income markets regulations, electronic trading concepts and risks
- Knowledge of trading process and products
- The ability to apply a technical understanding to data in order to solve complex problems
