Business Development Manager - Regional


Ideal Health is the strategic digital change partner of choice for health and social care in the UK. We are a digital health consultancy, combining digital healthcare expertise, proven methodologies and customer focused values to empower and enable organisations to deliver digital health and social care excellence.

We have a proven track record, having supported more than 150 NHS and private organisations with their digital transformation projects, providing wide ranging services, including bespoke strategic consulting, system implementation, large scale training programmes and optimisation support.

As the digital healthcare market continues to mature in the UK, we are looking to expand and grow our sales force to meet the demand for experienced digital health consulting partners. This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your career development and join Ideal Health as a regional Business Development Manager.


Key Responsibilities


  • Execute agreed regional sales plan to increase customer base and grow revenue.
  • Identify new opportunities across region.
  • Meet with potential clients to identify key areas where Ideal Health can support their digital health projects.
  • Attend regional and national industry events. Build and develop relationships within the industry and network with key contacts.
  • Collaborate internally with Practice Directors, senior consultants and delivery teams to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Lead development of proposals and bids.
  • Maintain and develop vendor and partner relationships within region.
  • Grow existing client accounts through effective and ongoing account management.
  • Overall account oversight and act as escalation point for selected accounts in region.


Key Skills


  • A professional demeanour and a demonstrable track record of developing new business and building client relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at a senior level (CIO/CEO/Director of IT/COO).
  • Good formal presentation skills.
  • The drive, energy and commitment to succeed and develop your career.
  • Ability to identify key buyer signals and apply agility during client meetings.
  • Ability to quickly grasp costing models (training provided).



Desirable Experience


  • Familiarity with digital transformation in healthcare.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solutions.
  • Experience of selling EPR consulting solutions into the NHS or private healthcare.
  • Understanding of NHS digital priorities
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement


Working Arrangements


  • Hybrid role of remote working and client travel (currently approximately 60/40 split).
  • A minimum of 2 weeks in our office in Guildford, Surrey at the start of employment for orientation and training.
  • A minimum of one day per month in the Guildford office for key meetings.
