Who We Are

deVere Group (dV) have great plans for expansion and wish to continue to be at the forefront of independent advice-driven financial planning. We're searching for entry-level Financial Planning Assistants (BDA’S) to join our professional and fully funded Financial Planning Trainee role in our Porto office.

We are one of the world's leading independent financial institutions, we provide a range of innovative wealth and investment management services focused on addressing our customers' needs via a network of offices across the Middle East, India, Europe, Africa, East Asia, ASEAN and the Australasia.

We can help you achieve your professional goals while also allowing you to make a unique contribution to our company. Our approach to career development is versatile; colleagues are encouraged to learn, take advantage of development opportunities, and be open to new experiences. We believe supporting our colleagues well fosters a positive culture that creates good outcomes for our clients.

The combination of work experience and outstanding learning and development opportunities available within our Porto office will equip you with a well-rounded skill set, that will enable you to build your career as a Financial Planner.

We'd love to hear from you if you’d like to advance your career with a company that will stretch and challenge you while giving the skills and experience you need to succeed.

What to expect?

Your first year will be spent gaining experience and learning everything there is to know about financial planning. You'll learn about the client journey, report writing, different types of analysis and how to use our tools and processes. You'll also enroll in the CISI and CII Financial qualifications, which will start your journey to becoming a qualified Financial Planner. You will also gain additional skills through a variety of training programmes delivered by our apprenticeship provider and our fantastic Learning and Development team.

After your first year, you will be able to specialise your development towards becoming a Financial Planner. We will support you to achieve any additional exams, with ongoing development to support your career.

What You Will Bring

  • We don't require prior experience, but we are searching for dedicated individuals who are serious about creating a career in financial planning with us. We're making a significant investment in our future financial planning talent to help support and drive dV's growth, and we need you to be a part of it.
  • dV has a collaborative culture, and you will collaborate with multiple teams both inside and outside your office during the programme. As a result, we value team-working abilities.
  • We’re looking for people who pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy throughout their work.
  • Whilst client Advice will be limited initially, we are looking for those who can succeed as their careers advance. We value good communication and people skills and a desire to build long-term connections with clients.
  • We need you to have good time management skills because this is a demanding and varied role where you will often be managing many priorities while also studying.
  • Through on-the-job experiences, learning and development, and qualifications, our training provides you with a continual learning path. We're searching for people that enjoy learning new things, seek out ways to expand their knowledge, and invest time in their studies. While challenging at times, we are confident that each exam you pass, and every opportunity taken to learn will benefit you both personally and professionally.

dV is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to recruiting and developing a diverse workforce, inclusive of race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, and disability.
