LHH is delighted to be partnered with our client, The Merchants House of Glasgow, as they seek a Grants and Events Officer to join their team.
The Merchants House of Glasgow is a charitable institution with a long history woven into Glasgow's rich tapestry. The organisation seeks to make a positive impact on the lives of the people of Glasgow and the West of Scotland across the social, educational, health and cultural sectors by providing grants and support.
This is an exciting new role, working alongside the Chief Executive and Events Manager, to strengthen the administration and grant-making systems, processes, and policies to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. The role will support the Events Manager, to act as the face of The Merchants House with clients and to set up the venue for events.
It's a great opportunity for someone to get involved in all areas of the House's work and to understand the whole picture of how a charity functions, from contributing at a strategic and organisational level, being involved in the development and delivery of the grants programmes and being integral to the overall administration of the charities office.
We are looking for an individual with knowledge or understanding of grant-making processes and procedure and with experience of using a relevant grants management system or database. You'll be a team player and self-starter, with strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and deal with interruptions. Due to the varied nature of this role, we are looking for an individual who can be flexible as some evening and weekend work will be required to deliver events. Experience of working in or with the charity sector would be beneficial.
