Hales Group are currently seeking a Deputy Lead Advisor to join our client site based in Dereham to assist the public with disposal of household waste, maximising recycling by separating waste and keeping the site tidy and safe for public use.
  
Main Duties Include:
the operation of the site to ensure that an efficient waste recycling service is provided. Prioritise the activities of colleagues
Keep the Supervisor aware of any issues, which may arise. Help ensure that site targets are met.
Ensure that members of the general public are treated in a helpful and courteous manner. Support colleagues where any difficulties arise.
Provide advice and guidance to colleagues as necessary. Carry out site inductions and on the job instruction for new employees. Conduct toolbox talks and briefings.
Prepare shift rotas and ensure that the site operates with the agreed levels of manning.
Ensure that the correct procedures for handling and storing materials that are hazardous or detrimental to the environment are followed.
Help maximise the level of waste that is recycled. Put forward any suggestions for improvement by members of the team to the Supervisor.
Report when containers are full or when they are likely to be full so that replacements can be delivered in a timely manner.
Complete records required on the amount of waste received and dispatched. Ensure that subcontractors complete the necessary paperwork to remove materials from site.
Ensure the Re-use Shop is kept clean, tidy and well stocked at all times.
Travel to other recycling centres at times, if/when needed.   
In order to be considered for this role;
Knowledge of waste recycling.
COTC is Certificate of technical competency (Training would be offered to successful candidate)
Experience in managing a team
Experience in dealing with the public and cash handling
Good customer service skills
Computer literate   
LOCATIONS: Dereham (main base)
HOURS: Sunday to Thursday
SHIFTS: 8.45am-4.15pm
PAY: £12.41+ per hour
DURATION: Temporary to Permanent
