About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN-TA (Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant) specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join our passionate team at a reputable primary school in Finchley, London.
As an ASD Specialist SEN-TA, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the educational experiences of students with ASD, ensuring they receive tailored support to achieve their full potential.
Application Requirements:
• Relevant experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within an educational setting.
• Understanding of ASD characteristics, behaviors, and effective strategies for supporting individuals with ASD.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional well-being of students with SEN.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASD, implementing tailored strategies to meet their educational and developmental needs.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans.
• Assist in planning and delivering differentiated lessons and activities that promote inclusivity and engagement for students with ASD.
• Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to participate.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/carers on achievements and areas for development.
We offer a competitive daily rate of £85-£100, contingent on experience and qualifications, along with a full-time, long-term position offering stability and opportunities for career advancement in a nurturing school environment.
