With a view to continuing the evolution of regional markets our customer is seeking a Sales Director who will lead their UK & Ireland operations.


Role Overview:


Operating as part of the leadership team you will be responsible for setting the direction and priorities for the regional development and strategy.


Working with divisional and Group leadership the Sales Director will continue evolving the sales strategy based on external market requirements and aligned with internal capabilities. Focusing on growth and profitability the role will lead the development into new market segments, utilising strategic geographic advantages and driving the group's clear and targeted sustainability agenda.


Managerial responsibilities include leadership of the sales team, decision-making, strategy development, budget creation and management, new business development, transaction approving, contractual and commercial agreement preparation.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Conquer defined new markets and customers to contribute to sustainable growth
  • Develop a detailed growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction, with mid- and long-term targets, milestones, and activities for each segment and for individual customers
  • Create a product/market matrix with priorities for each market segment
  • Development of the sales team and organisation
  • Development of defined strategic market segments for the future growth, with a focus on profitability and strategic fit
  • Development of the total turnover of the region
  • Enable a robust data centric organisation through CRM and long-range forecasting tools for S&OP to ensure integrated business planning operates effectively


What skills we are looking for:


  • An experienced people leader, manager and team developer.
  • Excellent relationship building & interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in managing significant sales budgets (£50m+) and closing high value deals.
  • Proven track record in developing new market entries and creating long term profitable growth
  • Market knowledge in the packaging industry, preferably in plastic packaging.
  • Clear understanding of the current sustainability topics and the impacts on the competitive landscape
