Job Purpose:
Your role involves conducting and organizing the maintenance of our client's electrical network and assets, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply. You will oversee engineering and craft resources to guarantee that maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
The Commercial Buildings Team is responsible for controlling, operating, and maintaining High and Low voltage electrical networks across multiple sites, primarily located on the Canary Wharf Estate.
As a central figure in this setup, you will be responsible for operational and maintenance tasks, including managing staff, contractors, and network assets/maintenance.
You will report to the Client Delivery Manager and oversee daily operations. It is crucial to maintain precise records to demonstrate compliance with commercial contracts to the clients.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Plan and execute maintenance of the Commercial Buildings HV/LV networks to achieve scheduled goals.
- Develop an annual maintenance plan for approval by the relevant building management.
- Follow UKPN procedures for health, safety, quality, environmental, and welfare to conduct all work.
- Conduct safety audits and implement related actions.
- Secure our client's electrical supplies.
- Fulfill customer expectations regarding service quality, flexibility, and reliability.
- Perform associated administrative tasks, including the monthly report production for the Client Delivery Manager.
- Promptly prepare and deliver maintenance reports to the client.
- Assist the customer with organizing and executing new connection requests, tenancy changes, and energisation/de-energisation on the LV metered network, including coordination with UKPN for supply issues.
Desirable
A broad understanding of UK Power Networks Services businesses.
Knowledge of UK Power Networks Services PC&G process.
Travel around the Commercial Buildings clients' sites.
Ability to manage time and to meet deadlines.
To be skilful in decision-making.
Relevant Safety Qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
Knowledge of Construction Design and Management Regulations.
Record of team working
Experience managing teams of staff / external contractors
Supervisory qualification (Certificate in Management or equivalent)
Experience managing small projects
Work as individual or as part of a team
Ability to work under pressure and remain focussed on problems
