About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Head of Commercial to join our team and drive our commercial strategy to new heights.

This is a pivotal role within the Swim England group, responsible for leading the development and implementation of commercial strategies that will propel our organisation forward. As the Head of Commercial, you will be at the forefront of driving revenue growth across our diverse range of products and services. Your creativity and strategic vision will play a crucial role in expanding our reach and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Strategy Development: Lead the creation and execution of commercial strategies across the Swim England group, ensuring alignment with our sales, marketing, and business objectives.
  • Revenue Growth: Increase business revenue by driving sales for products and services within your remit, including sponsorship, brand partnerships, merchandise, and awards.
  • New Opportunities: Identify and develop new product and revenue opportunities that offer sustainable returns on investment. Track new markets and emerging trends, recommending and implementing new products and services.
  • Strategic Brand Partnerships: Propose and develop new strategic brand partnership opportunities, collaborating with internal teams with similar partnership and growth objectives.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Work closely with relevant Senior Leadership Team members to plan, develop, and implement commercial strategies that align with the broader goals of Swim England.

About You

The ideal candidate will be results driven, with strong commercial acumen and able to articulate previous success in commercial/revenue growth and business development.

A combination of deeply honed skills and leadership as well as culture fit (ambitious & driven) and the ability to bring your “A” game is also essential for the successful candidate, along with:

  • A track record of successfully developing and implementing commercial strategies that drive revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of market trends and the ability to identify and capitalise on new opportunities.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.

About the process:

  • The vacancy is set to close at midnight on Tuesday 18th June, but may close sooner depending on response. Please don’t delay in submitting your application
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a panel interview at our SportPark office in Loughborough on Friday 28th June or Tuesday 2nd July. This first stage interview will include competency based interview questions and candidates will be asked to prepare to present on a specific brief.
  • The second stage will take place mid-July, which is likely to include an informal interview.
