We are looking for Female Support Workers to join our Service based in Shirley, Southampton on either a part time or full time (37.5 hours a week) basis. Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual. We can be flexible with the number of hours offered and will consider applications from all interested candidates.
Due to the nature of this service, we are ideally looking for applicants who hold a full, clean driving licence but this is not essential.
About the Service
The people we support in Southampton are looking for someone with a great sense of humour to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess good people skills, willingness to be hands on, attention to detail, compassionate, kind and have a positive nature. Roles will including supporting into the Community, visiting family members, outings, shopping, cooking, assisting with housework, exercises and personal care and much more.
The people we support are looking for new friendly faces who would like to come and join their team. If you are looking for a challenge in a fantastic role, like having fun and can make time to sit down for a chat then they would love to meet you.
What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
  • Excellent communication skills and R elationship building - supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
  • Community & Social Inclusion - s upporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and s ocial events to promote life skills and individuality.
  • Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
