**We are looking for a Female Support Worker to join our Service based in Thornhill, Southampton on a permanent part time basis (24 hours).** **Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. **_You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual._**

Due to a nature of this service, we are ideally looking for applicants who hold a full, clean driving licence but this is not essential.

**About the Service**

This Service supports two ladies. Both ladies are nonverbal so you will need to be to be patient and intuitive. In addition, you will need to be comfortable with providing full personal care, administering medication (following training) and moving people (i.e. push manual wheelchair). People moving and medication training will be provided..

The ladies enjoy a range of activities, including listing to music, watching TV and films, attending the Mayflower Theatre, going for walks in the park, shopping and playing hand games.

**What does a Support Worker do?**

As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:

- **Supporting people to live independently** - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- **Relationship building **- supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- **Community & Social Inclusion** - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- **Personal care** - helping people to get ready for the day.This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
