Job Description:
Join our amazing client, in a dynamic role as an IS Support Specialist, providing 2nd / 3rd Line Support and Systems Administration across two UK manufacturing sites. You'll be immersed in a diverse Windows / Linux environment, showcasing your expertise in virtualisation and networking.
Key Responsibilities:
Take ownership of incidents from initiation to resolution, demonstrating unparalleled troubleshooting skills across various technical domains.
Provide comprehensive Application Support, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting both onsite and remotely via phone, email, and instant messaging.
Manage virtualisation environments, particularly VMWare, and confidently troubleshoot SQL performance issues in SQL Server.
Support Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems on mixed server platforms, with proficiency in Linux/Unix System Administration (Redhat, CentOS).
Conduct advanced Networking and Infrastructure Troubleshooting and Diagnostics, encompassing DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and Firewalls.
Apply ITIL methodology principles, with certifications considered advantageous.
Thrive in a fast-paced technological environment, delivering under pressure with precision.Required Skills:
Outstanding troubleshooting ability, driven by a passion for resolving complex technical challenges.
Extensive experience in Application Support and Systems Administration.
Strong knowledge of VMWare virtualisation and SQL Server.
Proficiency in Windows with exposure to Linux/Unix (Redhat, CentOS).
Advanced Networking skills with DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and Firewalls.
Familiarity with ITIL methodology.Non-Essential But Highly Desirable Skills:
Previous experience supporting air gapped networks.
Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible for infrastructure as code.
Linux/Unix System Administration skills (RedHat, Ubuntu).
Knowledge of PCI CPP standards.
Experience with deployment tools like MDT and WDS.Professional Experience:
