We're seeking a Support Specialist to join our Learning Disabilities service in Hertfordshire. As a Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet their assessed needs. This includes providing personal care, domestic duties, emotional and social support in a person-centred way.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the needs of individuals with learning disabilities and be able to provide a high level of support to enable customers to achieve their goals. You will also be responsible for participating in support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker. Additionally, you will be required to carry out security duties to ensure the safety of customers and premises.

We're looking for someone who is fundamentally calm and resilient, able to cope positively with challenging and diverse behaviour. You will be expected to work as part of a group or team, and be open to feedback and self-development. A high level of self-esteem, respect, and sensitivity in communication is essential. If you're motivated towards excellence and improvement of personal performance with a 'can-do' attitude, we want to hear from you.

The salary for this role is £24,960.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week. Benefits include 25 days Annual Leave, pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare, and career progression. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to customers to develop life skills
  • Participating in support planning and risk management
  • Carrying out security duties
  • Monitoring CCTV throughout the shift
  • Enabling customers to make full use of community facilities
  • Reporting any observations relating to customer welfare
  • Adhering to all policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing
