Logistics Manager - Major Cut & Carve Project
Temporary (long-term) or Temp / Perm
Central London
100,000 sq.ft. £16m heavy cut & carve which involves roof extension (taking off 2-floors and adding 3), new mansard, terraces and plant. Cat A, with cut & carve & Cat B. Just finished extensive demolition.
Immediate requirement for a Logistics Manager to join the team, working for a main contractor.
The brief: responsible for keeping the site tidy, H&S conscious, vigilant with clear walk ways and clear signage, take ownership of the delivery portal. Monitor and supervise the hoist driver, traffic marshals and site signage, keep on top of H&S. All protection at pavement level needs to be spot on.
Must have SSSTS (or SMSTS) and First Aid at Work - Pasma would be beneficial but not essential.
The business:
·An understated contractor has been around for circa 30yrs and has developed from small fast track fit-out projects (£100,000) to major cut & carve refurbishments (up to £30m).
·They have a good pipeline of work (one of their clients has a portfolio of £6bn worth of work, and this contractor are their preferred contractor).
·They are financially strong healthy capital in the business, and have an excellent credit rating
·They are a principal contractor but consider themselves builders'.
·Last year they finished a £25m refurbishment and fit-out in central London of 300,000 sq.ft over 13 floors
·As a business they have grown over the last few years from £5m to £14m and now £25m this year with further growth anticipated (£40/50m in the next two years).
·Generally, have 2/3 main projects at any one time, with a variety of smaller fit-out projects.
As a company they are:
·Friendly bunch, but can get contractual if needed.
·Team players, hands on, work hard
·Good workers - have direct labour for builder's works packages.
