Logistics Assistant

£12.50 per hour

Hedge End, Southampton

We are excited to be working in partnership with a fantastic logistics company who are based in the Hedge End area of Southampton which is looking to recruit a Logistics Assistant to join their small, friendly team.

This is a terrific opportunity for a dedicated, reliable, experienced Logistics Assistant to join a company on a long term temporary contract, that could lead into a permanent job in the future

Full training can be provided, although logistics/warehouse administrative experience would be preferred. If you have a strong work ethic with a 'can-do attitude', and would feel comfortable working within a small team then this is the job for you.

As a Logistics Assistant you will be:

- Processing incoming orders and verifying orders details
- Coordinating with various departments within the business to fulfil orders
- Managing inventory levels
- Preparing shipping documentation
- Assisting with customer enquiries
- Check and allocate bulk orders to bulk pickers
- Check and allocate orders
- Support the warehouse manager in completing H&S inductions and training for all new warehouse staff
- Supporting the Warehouse Manager in running and supporting with the WMS
- Monitor and manage all container unloading by the contractor in a timely manner
- Processing credit notes, returned goods, sample requests and setting up new accounts

Some of the skills required for the Warehouse Operator roles include:

- Be computer literate with knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
- Be able to work on your own initiative after training has been provided
- Be able to demonstrate leadership skills in the absence of the management team

The working hours for the Logistics Assistant role is Monday to Friday's from 8am to 5pm, with a 1 hour unpaid lunch. Overtime is paid at x1.5 after 40 hours are completed in the week. No weekend work required.
