CY Resourcing are partnering with a respectable public sector organisation located in Evesham, who are looking for a Rent and Service Charge Accountant on a permanent basis. Rents & Service Charges
* Calculate the annual rent uplift in line with the Rent Standard, ensuring thorough checks and ongoing updates to the Association's Rent Model.
* Guarantee accurate rent calculations by the Finance Team and other officers, maintaining compliance for new developments and relets.
* Determine annual service charges according to policies, ensuring adherence to the Landlord and Safety Act, and prepare service charge accounts for audit along with reconciliations for variable service charges in new developments.
* Conduct annual reconciliations of service charge actuals against budgets, providing detailed variance analyses.
* Prepare an annual report for the Executive Team outlining proposed service charges.
* Manage the preparation of variable service charge accounts and address external auditors' inquiries regarding these accounts.
* Act as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders on rent and service charge issues, resolving queries and attending necessary stakeholder meetings.
* Complete regulatory submissions to the Social Housing Regulator and generate monthly stock reports.
Budgets & Management Accounts
* Collaborate with the Financial Business Partner for Operations & Resources to prepare monthly revenue management accounts within 10 days of month-end, including variance analysis and forecasts for the Executive Team and Board.
* Support effective budgetary control through monthly monitoring and variance analysis of the Operations and Resources budgets, engaging with budget holders to assess financial performance and provide necessary training.
* Maintain and periodically review cost centre and budget holder information in the accounting system, ensuring accessibility for budget holders.
* Assist in developing annual budgets for the Operations and Resources directorate within established deadlines set by the Financial Analysis Manager, providing relevant insights.
Financial Accounting
* Work closely with the Senior Finance Manager to prepare specific notes for the accounts, including details on ‘Share Capital’.
* Aid the Senior Finance Manager in addressing auditor queries and preparing necessary documentation.
* Support the Senior Finance Manager with additional information required for inclusion in annual financial statements.
Other Duties
* Assist the Financial Analysis Manager in compiling data and information for various reports, including operations modeling.
* Ensure compliance with data protection regulations in alignment with Group policies and statutory requirements.
* Uphold legal obligations and adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and financial regulations, including health and safety protocols.
* Identify and manage risks relevant to the role, taking appropriate actions to establish necessary controls.
* Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
* Represent the organization positively at all times.
* Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.
