Job Summary

The Sales Representative is responsible for driving the NGS Sequencing business and MGI automation in the UK in the research and private market (non-IVD). This position will be responsible for developing sales strategies and tactics that achieve the revenue goals of the assigned region through direct channels.


Responsibilities:

  • Seek out new customers and sales opportunities to drive revenue.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the regional business plan to meet the assigned target of revenue and strategic objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by researching market trends, establishing relationships with potential clients, and expanding the company's market presence to achieve revenue growth targets.
  • Lead and manage critical sales projects from inception to completion, coordinating cross-functional teams, setting project milestones, tracking progress, and ensuring the timely achievement of sales objectives.
  • Achieve the quarterly and annual sales and profit plan as assigned.
  • Accurately forecast customer demand (i.e., product quantities and dollars, orders, shipments).
  • Build long-term relationships with Key contacts at target customers.
  • Use various lead generation tools to enhance the lead pipeline.
  • Update the CRM system and manage the sales pipeline by reporting opportunity evolution and probabilities.
  • Initiate promotional events for the company.
  • Represent the company at trade events.
  • Follow company guidelines/practices/policies and provide timely development plans to correct for underperformance.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that MGI’s commitment to customer satisfaction is performed, delivered, and constantly improved.
  • Drive a high level of interaction and engagement between other departments (e.g., Marketing, Customer Solutions) and local sales team & staff to ensure coordination of activities and alignment on common goals.
  • Handle confidential information: Manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and complies with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information, including personnel matters, legal documents, financial data, contracts, and other proprietary information.


Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or above in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience in the Life Science Capex industry or the NGS market.
  • Strong motivation and drive to make an impact on the NGS market.
  • Strong technical background in molecular biology and NGS is required.
  • Strong communication skills to internal and external audiences.
  • Sales experience in the research market in the territory.
  • Problem-solving and customer-centric attitude.
  • Patience and the ability to tactfully handle customer negotiations
  • Professional communication in English, and knowledge of other languages is preferred.
