We are seeking a Project Lead for a 12-month contract based in Derby on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Job description - the role
We are looking for a dedicated Project Lead with a strong delivery background in Engineering, Manufacturing & Operations, or Procurement environments. In this role, you will be responsible for the practical execution of projects, ensuring that requirements are met, and project milestones are achieved.
Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience
Technical Project Execution: Lead the technical delivery of engineering projects, ensuring that all technical objectives and deliverables are achieved according to project specifications.
Coordination and Oversight: Oversee day-to-day project activities, manage technical resources, and ensure effective coordination among engineering teams.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners, providing updates on progress, and addressing technical issues.
Resource Management: Allocate technical resources effectively, ensuring that personnel, equipment, and materials are used efficiently to meet project goals.
Risk Management: Identify technical risks and develop solutions to mitigate potential issues that could impact project delivery.
Technical Documentation: Maintain and update technical project documentation, including engineering plans, schedules, and performance reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Process Optimisation: Implement best practices in project delivery and engineering processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all technical deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to engineering specifications.What We Require:
Technical Experience: Hands-on experience in technical project delivery within Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, or other regulated engineering sectors, with a strong background in Engineering, Supply Chain & Procurement, and Manufacturing & Operations.
Practical Project Delivery: Proven track record of leading the practical aspects of engineering projects, including technical resource management and execution.
Project Management Tools: Familiarity with project management tools such as Primavera P6 or similar, for tracking and managing project progress.
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of engineering processes and technical project execution, with the ability to address and resolve technical challenges effectively.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to team members and stakeholders.
Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical issues.
Team Collaboration: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and stakeholders.Next steps
