Role Overview
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Project Controls Manager to become part of our expanding team.
The Project Controls Manager will integrate into our growing Midlands Project Controls group, collaborating with a diverse array of clients to spearhead the adoption of best practice Controls, Planning, Analytics and Reporting, Risk, Change, Resource, and Performance Management solutions on intricate, multidisciplinary client commissions.
As a Project Controls Manager, you will excel in communication, ensuring engagement and interaction across all aspects of Project Controls to facilitate the successful achievement of project, program, and portfolio goals.
Key Qualifications
Required:
• Leadership and Collaboration: Managing a project controls team on significant commissions or projects, ensuring all scope is delivered and resources are coordinated effectively.
• Proven experience in implementing tailored Project Controls Management strategies and processes on projects, programs, and portfolios.
• Comprehensive knowledge of best practice project controls principles; understanding project and business objectives and how a client-specific life cycle or procurement strategy may influence the Project Controls Execution strategy.
• Defining success metrics and the processes and governance we implement to ensure they are met.
• Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in at least one discipline of Project Controls: Planning, Analytics and Reporting, Risk, Cost Control, Estimating, Change, Governance, and Strategy.
• Familiarity with project controls systems such as Primavera, Project Online, Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject, SAP, @Risk, Pertmaster, Active Risk Manager (ARM), Acumen Suite, Power BI, Azure, Tableau, Sharepoint, CEMAR, Conject, etc., with the ability to recommend optimal solutions based on specific client needs.
• Understanding of contracts, particularly NEC, and how its details influence the delivery of Project Controls.
• Conducting independent reviews to ensure that all project data is of high quality, validated, and rationalized before submission to clients, while managing our commissions in accordance with internal compliance.
• Confidently presenting project status to stakeholders; addressing where we should be, our current position, and the implications. Making recommendations on recovery plans and mitigation strategies.
• Fostering a positive, can-do culture within your commission for Project Controls Management. Holding work package owners accountable for their performance, designing tailored outputs to meet varying stakeholder needs, identifying key interfaces and dependencies, and implementing governance to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Desirable:
• Experience in Line Management, demonstrating role model behavior and the ability to inspire and motivate your team.
• Involvement in bid or proposal preparation, writing, review, and assurance.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, leading to effective relationship building and report writing.
• A passion for sharing your expertise through mentoring or line management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
